Rupert's Newborn Photoshoot | West Yorkshire Newborn Photography
A busy start to 2017 has meant I've had no time to share any recent sessions on the blog, so here's my attempt to change that!
A few weeks ago baby Rupert came to see me for his newborn photoshoot. He was a beautiful sqidge of a baby with lots of baby rolls to photograph, and despite the fact he was wide awake for a good chunk of the session we still managed to get some great images of him in a variety of poses.
At the start of each studio based newborn photoshoot I ask the parents to pick from a variety of backdrops and accessories to use during the shoot. Rupert's parents' preference was for natural images using neutral and dark backdrops, so we used these throughout.
Although he was awake for quite a while, Rupert was really relaxed, happy and warm in the studio, so we got some lovely awake shots. One of my favourites is this yawn, that looks quite a lot like a roar when you're wearing a little brown ear bonnet!
After a couple of feeds he did fall asleep so we got some lovely sleepy images of him too.
We even managed to finish Rupert's session in a wooden prop bowl - in fact he was so comfy in here he really didn't want to get out!
NB Safety is always my first priority - for the prop bowl shots there is a heavy weight in the bottom of the prop to make sure the bowl doesn't move, and Rupert's Daddy was right next to him the whole time in case he woke or startled.
