Qualified Newborn Photographer West Yorkshire

I am extremely proud to announce I have recently achieved Qualified status with the Guild of Newborn and Baby Photographers.

The Guild defines Qualifed Status as follows:

"Our 'Qualified' status is aligned to standards of competence and understanding that reflect a level where the customer should be 'delighted with the results' of the photographer. In other words 'Qualified' indicates professional 'competence' to a level where the Guild is willing to recognise the photographer as an ambassador of the association, so those who achieve that level should be proud of doing so"

In order to gain the qualification, I was required to submit 21 images for judging (3 images each from 7 different sessions) along with a written brief. The judges look for the images to display technical excellence, and check techniques such as the lighting, posing and composition used to create the image, as well as looking at the photographer's personal style and continuity within the panel. For newborn photography they also expect the babies to have been safely posed and not put at any risk to create the images, requiring 'before and after' images to demonstrate the creation of any composite images.
