Qualified Newborn Photographer | VH Photography | Halifax, West Yorkhire

It may come as a surprise to learn that the newborn photography industry is completely unregulated. There is no specific training or qualification that an individual must undertake before going into business and handling, posing and photographing brand new babies.

It's an absolute privelege to photograph each and every baby, and I never underestimate the trust parents put in me when they book me as their newborn photographer.

Your baby's safety and comfort is, and always has been, my absolute number one priority - before I opened my doors back in 2015 I undertook hands-on training with one of the UK's leading photographers. During the recent lockdown I decided to use my time to refresh my knowledge and undertook a course with The Academy of Newborn Photographers. This indepth course covered 21 subjects, including Birth, Newborn Health & Safety and Workplace Health & Safety. I had to attain 100% in three examinations to pass the qualification, and the academy requires all certified photographers to prove they have valid Insurance and First Aid Training before issuing their certificate. For full details of everything that's covered on the course, please click here to visit the Academy of Newborn Photography website.

My Guild of Photographers Qualification does include aspects of newborn safety, but moreso offers assurance on the quality and consistency of my work, so you can be sure your finished images will be of the highest standard. For more information, please see the Guild of Photographers website.
